Present Perfect

  1. Structure:
    • Affirmative: Subject + has/have + past participle
      • Example: "I have visited Paris."
  2. Negative:
    • Structure: Subject + has/have not + past participle
      • Example: "She has not seen that movie."
  3. Interrogative:
    • Structure: Has/Have + subject + past participle?
      • Example: "Have you finished your homework?"

Ideas

  • Completed Actions: Actions that occurred at an unspecified time before now.

    • Example: "They have traveled to Japan."
  • Life Experiences: Experiences up to the present.

    • Example: "I have never eaten sushi."
  • Recent Actions: Actions that have relevance to the present moment.

    • Example: "He has just graduated."
  • Actions with Duration: Actions that started in the past and continue to the present.

    • Example: "She has lived here for five years."
