Simple Past – Irregular Verbs

Grammar Drops: Simple Past – Irregular Verbs

💡 What is the Simple Past?

The simple past tense is used to talk about actions that happened and finished in the past. We often use it with words like yesterday, last night, two days ago, in 2020, etc.

🛠️ Forming the Simple Past of Irregular Verbs

Irregular verbs do NOT follow a fixed pattern. Instead of adding -ed, they change completely, stay the same, or have slight modifications.

✨ No Fixed Rules, But Some Patterns Exist

✅ Some verbs completely change:

✅ Some verbs stay the same:

cut → cut

put → put
